BPSU approves salary increase for part-time and contractual employees

In a move to recognize the value of their contributions, the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Board of Regents has approved a salary increase for part-time and contract of service (COS) employees, effective March 1, 2025 as proposed by Pres. Ruby Santos-Matibag.

This development marks the end of a 12-year stagnant compensation for part-time and COS employees within the university. The salary increase aims to align their pay with current economic standards and reinforce the university’s commitment to fair renumeration.

“This move is part of our efforts to promote fairness and equity in our compensation system”, Dr. Santos-Matibag said, ” We believe that our part-time and cos employees deserve a salary increase that reflects their hard work and dedication to the university”.

The salary increase is also in line with the National Government’s effort to address stagnant wages and inflation. The Phil. Govt has rolled out a four-tranche salary increase for civil service servants, starting 2025, as outlined in the Salary Standardization law of 2019.

The BPSU Human Resource Management and Development Office headed by Mr. Aaron Rondilla with the Finance Management Service Office, recommended and endorsed the salary increase, respectively that will take effect on March 1, 2025.
